ShowlistDC Music Notes: Tuesday 02-28-12

Stuff to read:
• Local band blog: bass player Tim Regan writes about his time in local power metal band Division. Regan’s last gig with Division was earlier this month.
• ALERT! DC GETS SNUBBED! (again!) the Washington CityPaper tells us that the Bobby Liebling documentary isn’t scheduled to play in DC. The documentary follows the self-destructive frontman of local doom metal legands Pentagram. Seriously, not even a screening at Silverdocs? (Does anyone else miss Visions Theatre? They totally would’ve played this!)
• DC nostalgia alert: You can see Ted Leo and the Pharmacists perform the Tyranny of Distance at the Black Cat in April [Washington CityPaper].
• DCist’s Weekly Music Agenda.
• Live reviews: We Love DC on Smiths tribute band Spineless Swine at the Red Palace. Jane Coyne on the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra‘s Prokefiev program at Strathmore [MD Theatre Guide]. Cecilia Porter on the IBIS Chamber Music Society [Washington Post]. A big metal show at Overlea Station in Baltimore [Baltimore Dead Metal].
